WHAT IS THE DIARY SERVICE?

The production crew diary service is designed for the busy freelance production professional. SHOOTS.com maintains a calendar for each freelancer, taking crew bookings via telephone, fax and the Internet.

HOW IS A BOOKING MADE?

The freelancer includes the SHOOTS.com telephone number and Internet address on their business card and advertising materials, and notifies their clients that SHOOTS.com will be their booking service. When the client wants to book the freelancer for a production, a call is made to the SHOOTS.com toll free telephone number 1-800-387-6776 or they can send an email or fax. The client asks if the freelancer is available for a particular day or week, SHOOTS.com staff will check the freelancers calendar and take the booking.

WHAT IF THE FREELANCER IS ALREADY BOOKED?

If the freelancer is on a hold only, a second hold will be taken, if the freelancer is already confirmed on a job, the client will be told what days are available before and after the requested date. If a situation arises where a booking comes in, for example, for a 10-day shoot, but the freelancer is already booked on a one-day shoot during that period, SHOOTS.com will still take the longer booking as a hold and notify the freelancer.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE FREELANCER IS BOOKED DIRECTLY?

All bookings taken by SHOOTS.com take priority over direct bookings, so the freelancer must notify SHOOTS.com immediately that they have taken a direct booking. The booking is then included in the freelancers calendar.

WHAT IS THE ADVANTAGE OF USING SHOOTS.com CREW DIARY SERVICE?

When a client is booking crew for a production, they call the freelancer and ask if they are available for a particular day. Often the freelancer is working on location, maybe out of state and out of touch. A message is left on an answer machine requesting availability for a production. If the client doesn't hear anything within an hour or so, they call another freelancer as a backup, just in case they don't hear from their first choice. The first chance the freelance gets to call the client is at the end of the day, but too late for the job, because the second choice called straight away and got the gig. Remember, one lost day of work is the cost for six months of diary service.

HOW WILL I KNOW IF I HAVE BOOKINGS OR JOBS?

SHOOTS.com will arrange a system with the freelancer to notify them of work and bookings. This can include a daily call-in by the freelancer or messages sent via email, fax and answer machine. Each freelancer has different needs and a system is used that will suit each persons needs.

WHAT WILL IT COST?

The basic cost for the diary booking service is $85.00 per month. There is no charge to your client. Payment may also be made quarterly at $225.00 per quarter ($75.00 per month), saving $30.00 per quarter. Payment is due monthly in advance and can be paid by American Express, Diners Club, Mastercard, Visa or on invoice.
